Inspiration is one of the largest roles of being a good teacher. The best teachers are the ones that inspire us the most and are able to attract us, even if we never thought we would be interested.
As a teacher, I want to be that teacher that inspires the students to become the best they can be, even if sometimes they are angry (not interested) with me because I ask them to do something multiple times. My philosophy with practicing is this: the most you get out of practicing is perfection. I am not here to make my students perfect in their playing, but I am here to teach each student to be the best they can be.

You may have noticed, under “Contact Me”, a section below the contact form that asks if you love what I’m doing here--teaching students throughout Maine to play the instrument they love, the drums. If you haven’t had the chance to check out the site for STIX Drumming Instructing, click here. It then explains how you can donate to the company as well as my cause--to inspire students and to help them discover their unique voices within the world they live. In other words: teaching the students to express themselves musically.
I want to explain to you a little more about what donating can do.
First of all, there are two ways in which you can donate:
1. Through PayPal. Obviously this leans on the financial side of donation. The “Donate” button on the “Contact Me” page (click here to see) brings you to a window where you can directly deposit funds from your PayPal account to the Instructor’s (me) account. If you want the funds to go towards a specific item, send me a message using the contact form on the “Contact Me” page. Please provide your name, email. Then tell me, in your message, how much you donated and how you would like the funds to be spent. 100% of the money donated will be used for the needs of the company. Guaranteed. These needs include:
Gas - to travel from my location to students homes so they can learn to play the drums in the comfort of their homes,
Drum gear - drum sticks, stick bags, practice pads, tuning devices, metronome devices, etc. to improve the quality of education,
Teaching Material - published books, manuscript paper/books, office supplies, etc. to improve the quality of education,
Website expenses - expenses that keeps the website on the internet with all the features needed to reach out to all drumming students, and
Studio expenses - paying for building expenses and equipment to provide a location for more local students (in the near future).
“This sounds kinda sketchy... How am I supposed to know where my funds are going? How do I know they’re not being used for other things?” - Feeling this way about donating funds? Not a problem (and no offense taken). Take a look at number 2.
2. Through Mail. The address provided under “Contact Me” is my mailing address. If you relate in any way to either of those two questions, I would encourage you to purchase the item yourself that you would want me to spend the funds on, had you donated the funds, and send it through the mail. I only ask that you please provide your email (or other contact information including social media, telephone number, or mailing address) so that I can personally thank you for your donation. This can be done using the contact form on the “Contact Me” page. Anything drum related will do perfectly but here are some suggestions:
Gas Gift Cards - an Irving or CNB gas will provide gas for me to travel to student locations around Maine,
Drum gear - drum sticks, stick bags, drum keys, practice pads, snare drums, and drum kits can be used by the students to practice and learn,
Teaching Material - published books, manuscript paper/books, office supplies, etc. to improve the student’s learning environment, and
Studio gear - stands, headphones, recording equipment, sound proofing materials, etc. which will allow the students to see and hear what they are learning and how they can improve their playing.
Everything that is donated, funds included, will be used by the company. 100% guaranteed.
Your generosity will improve the quality of education for each and every student. They will have the equipment they need to learn properly, and the teacher to give them the opportunity to learn the drums.
If you truly love what I’m doing here on the web and want to help me reach my goal as a teacher for all students, then consider the two donation options above. If you have already considered it and wish to donate now, visit my website STIX Drumming Instructing. Fill out the contact form with your name, email, as well as a message including how much you have donated and any specifications explaining how you want me to spend the funds. If you wish to send something through the mail, fill out the contact form with your name, email, as well as the name of the item you are donating and send it to the mailing address listed. Everything donated will be used by the company (STIX Drumming Instructing). 100% guaranteed.
Thank you to all donors in advance!
